About 'The Inn' Book
“The Inn” is a unique concept in written storytelling. Typically, books don’t get soundtracks until a film studio buys the rights, creates a movie, and hires a composer or some band to give the story a musical theme.
With the advent of artificial intelligence, Tim was able to create music that fits his specific story and place it in the pages at just the right moment. The lyrics for each song are taken directly from the text of “The Inn” by AI, reviewed and edited by Tim, and then a music track created to give each track a unique sound that fit within the overall motif of the soundtrack. “The Door Was Never Closed” was the first song written and set a tone that guided the creation of the other five tracks.
As you read through “The Inn”, you will see indicators for where a song might be played. You don’t need these songs to enjoy the book, but it is our belief that including them will bring you further into the story and deepen your involvement with its characters and message.
The Inn’s creation came in a very strange way.
As a member of Fellowship in the Pass Church in Beaumont, California in the early 2000’s, he got involved with the annual Christmas Pageant. Along with providing some voiceover lines and acting as the crazy Uncle Billy in a reenactment of the climactic scene in “It’s A Wonderful Life”, he manually operated the doors of a two-story Christmas tree. One evening during either a rehearsal or performance, God gave Tim the concept for The Inn. He could see it clear as day, but could never quite get it down on paper.
The one evening while re-watching “Return of the Jedi”, the THX Remastered edition, he saw the interview between George Lucas and Leonard Maltin regarding the creating of the original Star Wars Trilogy. Lucas mentioned he had to create the backstories for the characters (what became the second set trilogy, or movies 1, 2, and 3 in the franchise order) to write the tales of Luke, Leia, and Han.
That interview inspired him to write backstories for the characters from The Inn. Once he did, the story flowed almost effortlessly.
Over the years Tim showed his manuscript to various folks to edit and get their input. From pastors to friends to students, each added bits here and there to help flush out the story. In the fall of 2025, He used an AI chat to help refine some of the finer details of The Inn into its final written form.
But in January of 2026, Tim began dabbling in AI Music for other projects. He created several solid songs before God tapped him on the shoulder again, inspiring him to create a song for the climax of story. After several attempts, “The Door Was Never Closed” came into being. He also felt inspired to give Elisheva (“She’s Got A Strength About Her”) and Tehila (“Whispers of Dreams”) songs as well to help further their character’s depth. He eventually added “The Inn On The Hill” and “Bethlehem Market” to the roster, but there was something missing.
His wife Dee suggested a song for after he had turned away Mary and Joseph, eventually giving them a place in his manger. “I Was Closer Than You Knew” was produced with her inspiration and help.
